As an old Scottish saying goes, "Good things come in small packages". And it is that, despite its small size, Scotland certainly has many treasures crammed into its compact territory..
Scotland is a land of castles, abbeys, lagos, waterfalls, It is full of dreamlike landscapes that you can enjoy traveling by car and being able to stop at the place with the most incredible views.. And so will we! We will travel in a comfortable high-end vehicle 9 seats with private driver/guide for us throughout the route. We will be a group of only 8 women and we will leave from Barcelona. Two days in Edinburgh and 5 route days visiting the Highlands: the isle of skye, el Lago Ness, the most spectacular castles, cliffs, story towns…On a trip that is a luxury in all aspects. DAY 1– Meeting in Barcelona at the agreed time to catch our flight to Edinburgh. At the arrived, a taxi will take us to the hotel and free afternoon/evening to walk and have dinner in Edinburgh.
DAY 2- After having breakfast, our guide will pick us up at the hotel for a private tour of the Old Town (Old City) and the Dean Village neighborhood. We will listen to the best anecdotes and stories, We will visit the most spectacular monuments and meet the characters who changed the history of Edinburgh and the world!! Free afternoon in Edinburgh.
DAY 3- After having breakfast, we will leave our hotel to start a route of 5 days in the Scottish Highlands, also known as The Highlands. We will head towards Stirling and the William Wallace Monument Tower.
Over the Hill Abbey Craig, nothing pays better tribute to the national hero than the monument tower that bears his name.
A nice walk will take us to the top where we will find the best views of the city. Once there, we can contemplate
situ’ the battlefield where the Scots, led by William Wallace, they defeated the English army for the first time. we tell you
all strategy! Without doubt, one of the favorite stops of the day!
We will head to Killin where we will stop along the way to recharge our batteries next to the Docharts waterfalls..
We continue to GlenCoe, This is probably the most beautiful valley that can be traveled by road. Not only known for its natural beauty, the history that surrounds this enclave makes the valley of Glen Coe a special place on the journey. The wind that runs through its mountains whispers to us a gray and mysterious past with stories worth telling.
We'll head to Fort William, This will be the place chosen to stop for a walk and be able to taste the gastronomy of the place. Then we will pass through Fort Augustus, situated on the south shore of Loch Ness, has two attractions, the incredible “Caledonian Canal”, a marvel of Scottish engineering carried out by Scottish engineer Thomas Telford in 1822 and take the photo in the famous sign of the “Lago Ness”. And, for now only the photo, But there is cruise included later!
We'll get to Plockton, where will we sleep the next two nights. Without doubt, this small fishing village located in a bay
hidden, it is one of the jewels of the Highlands. Check-in at the hotel and rest.
DAY 4- After having breakfast, we follow the route to The Cuillins, immersed in the Isle of Skye we will find a dramatic landscape that will give us some wonderful snapshots. Coffee stop in Portree, this small town has the largest population on the island and is considered to be the capital of Skye. It stands out for its port and the picturesque colored houses that adorn it. We can walk through its streets full of little shops with local products and then return to the hotel in Plockton.
DAY 5- We will leave after breakfast leaving our hotel towards Donan Island, where we will visit one of the most famous castles in Scotland.
Eilean Donan Castle is the protagonist of numerous films, besides being one of the most visited tourist attractions. We will be stunned by the beauty that it gives off and the enclave where it is.
We follow! And now yes, play cruise on Loch Ness, one of the most famous lakes in the world, full of legend and reality. We will take a cruise that will take us on an unforgettable journey to the castle that guards the lake. Who knows if we will meet Nessie!!
Urquhart Castle is one of the most important in the history of this beautiful country and without a doubt the most beautiful point of the lake and we are going to visit it arriving at its gates by boat.
We continue to reach Invernnes, capital of the Highlands and in which we will eat, to later get to know its culture and get lost in its streets all afternoon. We will walk along the shores of Loch Ness, we can visit the cathedral, the 17th century Leakey bookstore and enjoy its atmosphere and gastronomy. Night in Inverness.
DAY 6- We will leave our hotel, heading to stonehaven, where we will make a stop to have a coffee and visit this small fishing village. On its bay there is a viewpoint that indicates the beginning of the path on the Dunnotar cliffs. Now it's time to walk! It will be a walk of some 40 minutes suitable for all, touring the cliffs of the Scottish coastline, enjoying one of the most special moments of the trip and to put the icing on the cake, We will arrive at Dunnottar Castle! Considered by many to be the most beautiful castle in Scotland. Then we'll go to St Andrews, the most important town in Scotland due to its historical load and its culture, where we will take a walk and eat. In the afternoon we will go to Dundee, a modern city that has been transformed in recent years.
Known in ancient times for its shipyards, has been the mother of important ships throughout history. We'll spend the night in this city and go out for a walk, get to know its center and experience its rich local gastronomy.
DAY 7- We leave the hotel and go to the heart of the Highlands to have contact with the pure nature of the highlands, hermit's forest, where we will see its beautiful waterfalls and walk among the tallest trees in the United Kingdom.
We will continue our route to Pitlochry, where we will stop for a coffee and then discover the culture of Whiskey in one of the most beautiful and oldest distilleries in Scotland, Blair Athol Distillery. After the visit we will go to Dunkeld, a charming little town in the heart of Scotland.
On the way to the lowlands, we will stop to visit one of the most picturesque towns, Culross, with its colored houses, we will lose ourselves for a while in its streets. Later, and already on the way to Edinburgh, we will see the sculptures of The Kelpies, impressive with their 30 meters high and we will go to our hotel in Edinburgh.
DAY 8- Free time until our taxi will pick us up to take us to the airport to catch our flight and end of the trip.
